WELCOME TO
Whiskey Rose Photography
Specializing in outdoor portraiture and events in the Las Vegas area. Perfectionist, neat freak, & lover of art at your service.
I love capturing the details. The details are what matter; they're what we put our hearts and souls into; they're the little things that mean a lot. If I can capture a brief, sneaky glance that speaks a multitude of memories, then that is perfection.
"Gum would be perfection." - Chandler. For all you Friends fans.
Let's tell your story
My goal is to capture a glimpse of your life and document it beautifully. Whatever your personal style may be, I want to display it in stunning photographs that you can cherish forever. Your special moments should without a doubt be captured, but you don't need a special occasion to have special photos!
Meet Suzanne
I'm an eclectic when it comes to style. Western, goth, minimalist, vintage, glam, retro, I love it all. I'm a 90's kid with Boomer parents, teenage step-kids, and a fresh 1-year old, so I speak multiple generations fluently.
I drive a sweet minivan, and my editing assistant is a Doberman who thinks he's a lap dog. For Vegas standards, I'm a native; I've been here since I was 10 years old, and am originally from Ventura, CA. For almost all of my adult life, I have been a police officer with Las Vegas Metro PD. Being a cop was a dream come true, and it has been a wild ride, but I am excited to transition to a different adventure.
Photography and travel have been passions of mine since I was very young. Growing up I would always ask for cameras for my birthdays and Christmas... 35 mm film, polaroids, underwater cameras, and the very first era of digital cameras. And I looooved getting my hands on disposable cameras every chance I could! I would take pictures of anything and everything.
Later, in my twenties, I was fortunate to do a lot of traveling. I couldn't take enough pictures on my trips. And with the dawn of smart phones, it was super easy to snap away. But I didn't want my pictures to just sit on a phone, only to be looked at on occasion. So whenever possible, I had a digital camera with me, making sure I took pictures worthy of being framed and displayed at home.
Traveling and taking pictures like a mad woman didn't change when I met my now husband. So, for him, it was a no-brainer to suggest I take my photography to a professional level. Without his support and faith in me, I don't know that I could have taken those first few baby steps (more like giant leaps) to make it happen.
I'm fortunate to be step-mama to a beautiful teenage daughter who has a knack for modeling. With her as my model, I was able to learn a lot quickly. She continues to be a phenomenal and eager test subject for me! I'm also step-mama to a 13-year-old football stud, (also making for some great practice photography!) and mama to an absolutely amazing baby girl.
